To drive technical excellence, we are looking for a Technical Director to join MEP – Buildings and Industry North-West. You are going to work closely with a team of experts and will report to the Head of Engineering - MEP, Malene Rustad Berntsen.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Drive technical excellence on MEP projects and ensure high quality and compliance with internal QM processes, client specifications, and external rules and standards through the planning, execution, and delivery of significant engineering projects.
- Define and plan technical capability development with HoEn for MEP disciplines, providing input for efficient people and capability development in Buildings and Industry.
- Manage COWIs partnerships and engagement with academia and research partners within MEP and improve disciplines in line with market needs.
- Contribute to customer relations by meeting with customers within MEP.
- Assist Project Managers and Directors in making informed technical decisions and maintaining a commercial market focus for upselling and contract extensions.
- Serve as the point of contact for technical leads and disciplines, both nationally and internationally, while providing guidance to select technical communities.
- Assist with strategic recruitment efforts and support the use of EDC in MEP disciplines.
- Perform and act as a role model according to COWI’s leadership behaviors and values, developing the role according to the handbook.

On top of that, you will have:
- Academic degree in engineering - mechanical, electrical or plumbing.
- Extensive experience working on complex projects.
- Knowledge in digitalization and innovation.
- Professional proficiency in English and a Scandinavian language – written and verbally.

Work location
Our offices in Norway are in Bergen, Oslo, Trondheim. Bodø, Fredrikstad, Drammen, Hamar, Haugesund, Stavanger and Kristiansand, and we offer flexibility for you to choose the location that works best for you.
