About the role

The DNV Risers and Cables section is seeking to strengthen our management team with a Team Leader at our main office at Høvik, Norway.

About our team

Our section plays an important role in the energy transition as the world seeks to decarbonize energy production and transfer to green energy. The Section's product specialization is within risers, well systems, umbilicals and cables exposed to hydrodynamic loading. These products are vital in many market segments, like Offshore Wind, Floating Solar Power, Oil & Gas and Maritime. You will therefore work in a dynamic and exciting environment that actively works towards transitioning the global energy market towards a greener and more sustainable future.

In Risers & Cables you will work closely with leading experts within their fields. In addition, you will work across other internal units and be involved in exciting cross-disciplinary projects. Our section consists of 20 engineers delivering world class services within for riser and cable systems. We are a competence center related to the full life cycle of the products within our scope, and take on the role as expert, solutions provider and standard setter for our clients. We are involved in projects all over the world, supporting our local offices and global clients.

We also invest heavily in research and development (R&D) in close co-operation with the industry, using our accumulated knowledge to develop tomorrow's standards and software products. Being in the forefront of digitalization, we are currently working with several exciting concepts that make our digital services leading within the energy industry.

About the role

The team leader will take personnel responsibility for parts of the team in Norway. The time spent on manager tasks is estimated to be around 50% and the remaining time to be spent in projects. This means that you will be able to both excel your managerial career and your technical career as well. The group to be managed and detailed setup of the section will depend on the selected candidate and to be discussed together with Head of Section.

Role and Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of the  Team Leader – Riser & Cables  are:

  • Leading a team consisting of 8-12 people.
  • Follow up the performance of the team.
  • Stimulates a high performing culture, sets direction, is output driven and act as a role model for an inspiring employee experience
  • Support team members in their professional development and projects.
  • Cooperate with Head of Section and support in the section’s performance.
  • Involvement in strategic processes for the section and department.
  • Quality assurance of work done by other.
  • Project manager for small and medium size projects.
  • Work with development and maintenance of DNV codes and standards.
  • Builds and strengthens a strong internal culture, based on DNV's values.

About you

We are searching for experienced candidates who are motivated and ready to make the next step in their career.

Job requirements include:

  • MSc degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within the energy industry providing engineering, advisory or consultancy work.
  • Competence in one or more of the disciplines within hydrodynamics, global dynamic analysis (time/frequency analysis), local finite element analysis (FEA), structural reliability analysis (SRA) is an advantage.
  • Work experience within risers, umbilicals and/or subsea power cable technology or services is an advantage.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Previous experience in leading team would be an advantage, but not a requirement.
  • Working permit in Norway.
