At DNV Maritime, we are a global team dedicated to supporting the safety and sustainability of ships worldwide. Our Statutory Support Unit in Høvik is looking for an expert in SOLAS and Load Line to join our highly skilled team. You'll become part of a team that provides technical support to ship operators and DNV surveyors, within the topics fire safety, lifesaving, radio communication, navigation equipment and load line.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide day-to-day support to external customers and DNV surveyorson load line, fire safety, and lifesaving matters
- Communicate with Flag Administrationson technical statutory matters
- Follow development of IMO regulationsand other international regulatory bodies.
- Contribute to the development of service documents used by our maritime organization.

About you
To maximize your chances, you need:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree relevant to the role, such as: naval architecture, mechanical engineering, nautical, environmental technologies, or data analytics,
- Experience working with a Classification Society or Flag Administration,
- Sailing experience as a Captain or Deck Officer,
- You are available for a full-time employment.
It's a bonus if you also have:
- Strong knowledge of SOLAS Chapters II-2 & III and relevant DNV Rules,
- In-depth understanding of the Load Line Convention,
- Hands-on experience with plan approval, installation, or survey of lifesaving equipment and fire safety systems,
- Participation in regulatory and standardization work (IMO/IACS/Class/ISO/IEC).
