About Maritime
We help enhance the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of our customers in the global shipping industry, covering all vessel types and mobile offshore units. As a partner to industry, we offer services in testing, certification, training, and technical advisory through the energy value chain. That means we’re continually investing heavily into R&D for new services and solutions while proactively assessing what the industry needs today and tomorrow.
About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Safety, Risk & Reliability Consultant to join our competent advisory team. Our section works closely with maritime clients to provide them with the foundation to make risk-based decisions on operational and technical issues. Our client base ranges from large entities (such as IMO, EMSA, flag states, etc.) to international ship owners, shipyards, and operators, as well as smaller voluntary organizations.
Decarbonization, energy efficiency measures, digital transformation, and autonomous and digital ship systems are aspects leading to increased complexity and interdependencies in both ship system design and operational processes. To effectively tackle the challenges this entails, we adopt a multidisciplinary approach to manage the risks – the HOT (Human, Organisational, and Technical) approach. Now, we are looking for new talent to strengthen our capabilities within technical risk management.
Are you:
- Ready to leverage your skills and experience to tackle complex challenges alongside a dedicated team and our clients?
- Possessing a background in risk assessments and risk management within the maritime or energy sector?
- Self-driven, solution-oriented, and ready to steer projects to success and nurture client relationships?
- Motivated to further develop risk management in the maritime industry as it shifts toward a greener and more digital future?
If you find yourself nodding along, we encourage you to seize this opportunity and join us!
Key responsibilities in the role:
- Perform risk assessments and consultancy services related to alternative fuels (such as LNG, methanol, hydrogen, ammonia, etc.) and autonomous and remotely operated ships and ship functions.
- Drive innovation and development of new services and risk assessment methods.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to proactively address potential challenges within the maritime sector.
- Carry out technical risk assessment studies of various degrees of complexity (both qualitative and quantitative risk analyses).
- Be involved with marketing and bidding activities, project management, and customer follow-up.
You will be responsible for project execution from A to Z. This includes bid and proposal preparation, project work and project management, writing technical reports, preparing presentations, and having direct communication with the customer throughout the bidding and project phase.
