Senior Finance Analyst

The Senior Analyst, Finance will contribute, drive and support the implementation of the Supply Chain & Product Assurance strategy. You will act as a business partner for the Finance Director and Global Controllers to drive growth, operational excellence and financial objectives. You will participate in setting up new business models, pricing models and cost allocation models. You will assist the team with internal efficiency projects, mergers & acquisitions due diligence, and lead integration activities for acquired companies for Supply Chain & Product Assurance, within the requirements provided by DNV Group.
As the Senior Analyst, you will have the opportunity to play a fundamental role as the common link between activities and functions in Supply Chain & Product Assurance. With the support of the Finance Director and global team, you will manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and continuously strive to improve processes and performance. In addition to the above, you have a high degree of entrepreneurship and a strong interest in new technologies that can be used to further digitalize the service portfolio. You will be working in an environment with mature services as well as with services in the start-up / scale-up phase.
The Senior Analyst, Finance will report to the Finance Director and be based in Madrid, Spain; Oslo, Norway; or Barendrecht, Netherlands.
Tasks may include:
- Support the Finance Director and Global Controllers in setting up robust business models, pricing models and cost allocation models, working with stakeholders across the organization.
- Ensure that potential risks and opportunities are anticipated and understood.
- Be actively involved in M&A projects from the analytical side (due diligence, post-merger integration), working closely with the M&A and Governance responsible. Lead sections of the integration (system implementations, financial reporting, etc.) and see through to implementation. Build on, and build up your knowledge in our industry.
- Analyse performance across dimensions (e.g. countries, regions, service lines, projects) and initiate and follow-up on the implementation of corrective actions wherever necessary.
- Lead projects on internal business area efficiencies (system set up, structure, invoicing) and see through to implementation.
- Continuously improve the use, analysis and visualization of financial and operational data through data analytics
- Ensure that DNV Group and Supply Chain & Product Assurance governance principles regarding financial management are applied and implemented.
- Travel to DNV offices and in relation to M&A related activity may be required
- Ensure adequate quality of operational and financial information for decision making
Position Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in finance or accountancy
- Relevant business experience:
- 5-8 years of experience as a Senior Financial Analyst, Senior Accountant, Controller, Finance Manager
- Very high degree of comfort and ability with Microsoft Excel (analysing data, building financial models, and drawing conclusions). Experience in data analytics and data visualization (Power BI) is highly advantageous
- Comfortable with due diligence and integration related activities through work on M&A, auditing or financial advisory. Has built business plans and models from start to finish
- Knowledge of (or interest in learning) DNV financial systems (Oracle, Basware, OnGuard, Team, Agresso, OneStream, NGPS Oracle suite)
- Experience in finance process, system improvement and project management, particularly order-to-cash
- Experience in a start-up / scale up or digital business is an advantage
- PowerPoint expertise and presentation skills - Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Your direct manager, team and company converse in English
- A Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) designation would be highly advantageous, as would accounting firm experience (understanding and implementing control frameworks and financial reporting)
- Adequate understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards and financial concepts
- Proactive, analytical, detailed, organized and have a passion for numbers
