The ideal candidate will be based in Bergen and have an IWE (International Welding Engineer) degree. The main focus of the work will be to act as Welding Engineer/QA-QC Engineer for welding, materials and fabrication/repair activities related to maintenance, integrity and recertification of well control and workover equipment. You will support the industry in maintaining the integrity of technical and operational barriers for safety-critical equipment, systems, and operations through independent technical review, verification and follow-up.
You will work closely with colleagues in the section. Key responsibilities include:

- Ensure materials and welding traceability throughout the lifecycle (MTR/EN 10204, heat/lot traceability, consumable control and PWHT records) and verify compliance with client specifications and relevant standards.
- Lead and participate in nonconformance handling (NCR), root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA); provide technical input on weld repair dispositions and acceptance criteria.
- Support vendor qualification and quality follow-up: review supplier quality plans, assess welding/NDT capability, and contribute to audits and surveillance as required.
- Communicate with clients and stakeholders to clarify requirements, present findings, and support timely closure of technical and quality issues.
- Relevant degree (MSc/BSc) or equivalent in welding engineering, mechanical engineering or petroleum technology
- Hands-on experience with welding quality deliverables (WPS/PQR/WPQ, weld maps, NDT requirements/acceptance criteria, repairs and manufacturing record books)
