Job description

With more than a hundred years of experience, Aibel is a leading supplier within the oil, gas and offshore wind industries. We offer our customers optimal and innovative solutions within engineering, construction, modifications and maintenance throughout the project's life cycle. Our portfolio, covers manned and unmanned operated Oil and Gas topsides, High Voltage substations (HVAC or HVDC), Electrification projects, offshore wind parks and hydrogen facilities.

We are now looking for a Senior Engineer Automation - Cable and Loop Design who can design and specify cable signal and communication network solutions including termination/loop strategy for engineering projects in concept, study and detail phases. As a Senior Engineer you will be a contributing force to Aibel’s exciting journey in the ongoing energy transition.

Depending on the project, tasks will typically include:

  • Design of cable, termination and loop for EITA cables
  • Engineering of cable network, MTO’s and cable deliverables
  • Perform cable routing
  • Group Lead for engineering of Cable, Termination and Loop design for EITA cables
  • Responsibility for planning and coordination of resources, deliverables and work methods
  • Actively contribute to improvements of working methods and tools

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience from electrical, instrument, telecom or automation engineering in projects located on Norwegian Continental Shelf
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of IS-calculations and FebDok-calculations
  • Experience and thorough knowledge of cable design according to relevant standards such as NORSOK and IEC
  • Experience with SPI (Smartplant instrumentation) or other termination tools
  • Familiar with working in 3D models. Training will be provided if required

  • A natural team player, but possess the ability to work independently
  • Systematic and accurate, with high loyalty to deadline and quality requirements
  • You are proactive, you have a willingness to learn, you seek advice and share own experiences with others
  • Innovative approach, eager to improve methodology and solutions through digital tools
