About the role
The Product Line Renewables and Ocean Structures is seeking an experienced engineer to be part of our Customer Success team; leveraging their domain experience within structural analysis and code-checking of fixed structures either in Offshore Wind Turbine (OWT) and/or Oil & Gas (O&G) projects, to support our customers using Sesam.
Sesam is a market leading software suite for hydrodynamic and structural analysis of renewables, offshore and maritime structures. Sesam has strong interfaces with the DNV Bladed application - the leading wind turbine design software.
The successful applicant will be focused on engaging with our customers to help them succeed by building relationships and providing a high-quality product support service (including training and workshops) on engineering topics for existing and new customers. In addition, Customer Success Engineers assist the Sesam development teams by providing specialist structural engineering knowledge and customer insights.
Customer Success is part of the ROS Product Line. The Product Line consists of 100+ dedicated colleagues in multiple locations in the world with the main locations being Oslo, Bristol, Shanghai and Gdynia. The Product Line is responsible for software development, product management, customer support, pre-sales, training, testing and operations of advanced engineering software like Sesam, Bladed, WindFarmer and SolarFarmer.
The Customer Success team consists of 19 dedicated domain engineers with focused competences spanning hydrodynamics, wind turbine engineering, structural engineering and coupled analysis.
This position is an excellent opportunity to further develop technical skills, with an anticipation that this would lead to a strong career progression within DNV.
Main responsibilities:
- Contribute to a multi-disciplinary (software and domain knowledge/engineering) Customer Success team by providing domain and software knowledge support to customers
- Support Sesam sales activities and training online and at customers’ offices
- Contribute with domain knowledge and insights to product development
- Participate in collaboration forums aimed at creating cross-unit competence groups addressing sharing of information, industry best practices, domain competence and help drive innovation (in particular the Community of Practice for Fixed structures)
- Continuously improve the customer experience by creating training material, online documentation, videos, analysis of customer behaviours / trends to drive improved customer satisfaction

About you
Position Qualifications
- PhD/MSc within relevant engineering/science disciplines
- 10+ years industry experience within relevant areas like structural analysis and code-checking of fixed structures
- Experience in use of Sesam or other relevant software for fixed structure analyses
- Customer focused with the ability to communicate online and in person
- Fluent written and verbal communication in English
- A clear, open, active and honest manner (verbal and written) and seeks understanding of other views
- Ability to think creatively, take initiative and inspire others
- Driven to contribute to the success of the team
- Keen to build good personal and professional relationships and collaborate to create results
- Advantageous: experience with software support process and customer satisfaction measures
