About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated colleague to join our advisory team in Bergen. The team is part of DNV Maritime Advisory a global advisory unit with more than 250 employees. Our client base ranges from large entities (such as IMO, EMSA, flag states, etc.) to international ship owners, shipyards, and operators, as well as smaller voluntary organizations.

In light of the growing emphasis on decarbonization, energy efficiency, digitalization, autonomous and remote operations, and advanced ship systems, we are excited to expand our team with new members who can strengthen our advisory capacities.

As our future colleague, you should have a genuine desire to support our customers with their value-creation through advisory services related to new technology, technical and operational challenges, safety management, organizational processes, lifecycle management, etc. Further, a significant aspect of this role involves maintaining a strong presence in the regional market. You are expected to work closely with clients to understand their needs and equip them with the necessary insights for informed decision-making to ensure safe and sustainable operations.

  • You are responsible for project execution from A to Z. This includes bid and proposal preparation, project work and project management, writing technical reports, preparing presentations, and having direct communication with the customer throughout the bidding and project phase.

About you

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (within marine technology, industrial economics, machinery, energy, organizational psychology, etc.) Applicants with equivalent experience and qualifications will also be considered.
  • 5-10 years of working experience with a background in the maritime, energy, or offshore industry.
  • Experience with Safety Management Systems and ISM Code is highly valued.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time and motivation to take on new challenges.
  • Fluent in English and Norwegian both written and verbal.

For you to succeed as a consultant in our team, you should:

  • Be self-driven, analytical, and customer-oriented, with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Be able to understand and convey the business implications of technical issues.
  • Enjoy facilitating meetings and workshops with both small and larger teams.
  • Inhabit effective consultancy and communication skills.
