About the role
The “Medical Europe” unit is a Service Vertical SCPA region Europe operating in 17 countries. The unit delivers Certification of Medical Devices. It is a fast growing complex business that requires extensive experience in financial and commercial matters.
The Senior Commercial Manager/ Controller will contribute to, drive, and support the implementation of the new Area Medical strategy. You will be acting as Senior Business Partner to the Director of Medical Europe to drive growth, operational excellence and financial objectives. You will be responsible for controlling commercial and financial processes in operations including control of revenue generation processes, the target setting, forecasting and monthly reporting process , within the requirements provided by DNV Group. The function will be the business partner for Medical Europe with local responsibilities for all countries within that unit. You will be responsible to provide highly valued strategic oversight to the Area Manager and other key personnel. You will be part of an active and rich European Finance Network team and report to the Regional Finance Manager
Utilising your DNV internal and external Performance management network, you will play a fundamental role as the common link between all activities and functions in Medical. You will be responsible for building collaborative business relationships and be a sparring partner for the entire Area and between sales and operations. With the support of the Regional Finance Manager , you will verify that activities are carried out in compliance with the strategy, annual operating plan, DNV management system. You will manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and continuously strive to improve processes and performance.
In addition to the above, we are looking for an individual that has a high degree of entrepreneurship and ideally have experience within a hyper growth digital environment, whereby you have been on a continuous journey to improve processes and drive performance.
Tasks may include:
- Ensure that DNV Group and Supply Chain & Product Assurance governance principles with regard to financial management are applied and implemented in all countries of your Area
- Ensure quality financial information is used by the business for decision making and that potential risks and opportunities are anticipated and understood
- Support the Regional Finance Manager in setting up robust business models, pricing models and cost allocation models
- Actively partner with all facets of the SCPA business related to buying services (invoicing, credit collection etc) where SCPA services operate
- Manage and coordinate the annual target setting and quarterly forecasting process with the Area Managers
- Manage and coordinate the monthly/quarterly reporting process and participate in business review meetings with the regions with the Area Managers
- Analyse performance across dimensions (e.g. countries, regions, service lines, projects) and initiate and follow-up on the implementation of corrective actions wherever necessary
- Continuously improve the use, analysis and visualization of financial and operational data through data analytics and BI tools
- Ensure adequate quality of operational and financial information for decision making
- Follow-up, with support of GSS Finance, that statutory and other reporting requirements for legal entities are met
- Perform periodic balance sheet reviews, especially related to accounts receivables, work in progress, accrued expenses and cash and bank balances together with GSS Finance
- Understand trends and patterns and take corrective actions where necessary

About you
Position Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in Finance or Economics; can be compensated by extensive operational and financial experience
- Relevant business experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as Controller, Business Manager, Commercial Manager or similar positions
- Experience in finance process and system improvement including system implementation
- Experience in project management
- Knowledge of DNV financial systems will be a plus (Oracle, Basware, OnGuard, Team, OneStream, NGPS Oracle suite)
- Experience in data analytics and data visualization (Power BI)
- Experience in a start-up / scale up or digital business is an advantage
- Operational experience and line management experience is preferred
- Adequate understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards and financial concepts
- A demonstrated track record of working in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, analytical, and well, organized and have a passion for numbers
- Solution oriented mind-set combined with a pragmatic approach
- Ability to deal with conflict management and have courage in decision making
- Has strong foresight and is future driven
- Has a good grasp of business processes and is able to identify process improvement opportunities
- Demonstrated understanding of operations of assurance businesses, and the ability to look “beyond” finance controlling
- Demonstrated business acumen is a plus

- Forecast Accuracy
- Revenue and EBIT achievement
- Cashflow Targets
- Specific SCPA targets driving financial control and leadership within the Area Medical
- Operational and commercial control metrics such as delivery rates and cost
