About the role

Due to continued growth, DNV Business Assurance is seeking a Senior Certification & Technical Approval Officer to join our Global Technical HUB (GTH) team.

The Global Technical HUB (GTH), part of Global Operations & Technical, manages global accreditation and compliance governance efficiently and cost-effectively. As part of our global MSC technical team, you will collaborate closely with technical, sales, and operations departments across market units worldwide.

You will report to the Accreditation Manager.

Role purpose:

As Senior Certification & Technical Approval Officer, you will ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g. ISO 17021, ISO 17029, IAF MD documents) and deliver high-quality technical approvals. You will contribute to technical support activities and help maintain DNV’s reputation for excellence in certification.

Key responsibilities:

  • Review and report on the quality of certification work delivered by DNV Business Assurance market units worldwide, ensuring compliance and maintaining high standards.
  • Conduct performance analysis, scheme management, technical reviews, and make decisions related to competence, proposals, auditor reporting, project sampling, and certification.
  • Provide pragmatic, constructive, and business-oriented feedback to market units.
  • Support market units in achieving their quality and business objectives, maintaining acceptance by global accreditation bodies and standard owners.
  • Communicate effectively and proactively resolve issues with market units.
  • Support management in resolving internal and external audit findings (e.g. accreditation body audits) and other compliance-related tasks.
  • Maintain own auditor qualifications through regular auditing.
  • Uphold the independent nature of DNV Business Assurance at all times.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in accredited MSC activities, including accreditation management, technical reviews, performance analysis, and improvement projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of accreditation standards (minimum ISO 17021; additional knowledge of ISO 17029 is preferred).
  • Understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of at least three MSC standards (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001).
  • Familiarity with sustainability standards (e.g. ISCC, ISO 14064, EU ETS).
  • Completed Lead Auditor (LA) training and certification in relevant standards.
  • Maintained at least two LA qualifications through annual audits.
  • Ability to review audit results against single and multiple certification standards.
  • Proficient user of new IT tools and digital media.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English (verbal and written).

This is a global position in which you'll be able to work remotely or from any DNV office globaly.
