NVE is the national hydrological institute and provide hydrological services such as open hydrological data, tools for hydrological analyses, early warning systems, and NVE is a main contributor to the SeNorge digital twin on Norwegian hydrometeorological conditions. We also develop data and information for climate change adaptation as part of the Norwegian Centre for Climate Services.

We are now seeking a Researcher to strengthen our research activity on climate change effects on hydrology and natural hazards. You are an experienced candidate with the ability to downscale and run climate projections as input to spatially distributed and catchment-based hydrological models, and work with such data to analyse and communicate future hydrological states and extremes as a basis for design of infrastructure and societal planning. You are eager to utilize and develop new methodology to analyse climate change effects, and to communicate with user groups to understand their present and future needs for information, data and tools. You are also expected to contribute to and develop competitive internal and external research proposals for relevant national and international calls, and to publish your results in high-level journals. Our researchers are encouraged to continuously develop their competence, with the possibility of eventually qualifying for a professor-equivalent Researcher 1 position.

You will become part of a professional environment with a high international standing at the NVE Hydrology Department (Section for Hydrological Modelling) which has demonstrated the ability to combine scientific developments with innovative tools and services of high societal relevance.
