We are looking for skilled and motivated R&D Engineers to join our team.

In these roles, you will contribute to the design, development, and integration of systems for our next-generation ROVs. We are seeking candidates with backgrounds in one or more of the following areas:

  • Cybernetics / Software Development – motion guidance, navigation, control systems, and development in C++ and C#/.NET.
  • Embedded Software – C/C++ development for ARM-based microcontrollers (e.g., STM32), communication protocols, and integration with topside systems.
  • Electronics / Hardware – electronics and PCB design, system architecture, serial communication, and EMC design and testing.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of software, electronics, and mechanical engineers to ensure robust and efficient solutions for subsea applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop systems and components for advanced subsea ROVs.
  • Develop and maintain software in C++ and C#/.NET, and embedded software for ARM-based microcontrollers.
  • Contribute to the development of autonomous features and integration of relevant tools.
  • Implement and optimize communication protocols and ensure seamless integration with topside control systems.
  • Design and develop electronics and PCBs, including schematic and layout design.
  • Plan, perform, and verify electronics design, including EMC testing.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during design, test, and validation phases.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybernetics, Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Relevant experience may compensate for formal education.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, open-mindedness, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and to handle multiple projects in parallel.
  • Genuine interest in technology and innovation, with curiosity to explore new solutions.
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be eligible for Norwegian security clearance at the level of Konfidensielt / NATO Confidential if required.
  • Bonus: Experience from the subsea industry.

Experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Marine vessel control, C++ and C#/.NET software development. Knowledge of autonomy frameworks and tools, and their application in robotics or subsea systems, is an advantage.
  • Embedded C/C++ development for ARM-based microcontrollers (preferably STM32). Knowledge of power electronics, electric motors, or motor controllers is an advantage.
  • Electronics and PCB design (preferably with Altium Designer), serial communication, and EMC design practices. Knowledge of power electronics, electric motors, or motor controllers is an advantage.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a company with over 30 years of experience in producing advanced electric ROV systems and leading the development of autonomous and smart ROV systems.
  • Work with a team of passionate and skilled professionals.
  • Challenging and impactful projects: Solve real-world engineering problems in harsh underwater environments.
  • We offer a competitive salary along with a comprehensive pension and insurance package, which includes travel coverage and healthcare benefits.
