Rådgiver Elkraft
We are looking for an engaged advisor in electrical power
Do you want to work with renewable energy? Are you an electrical engineer? Then, join our Power Grid team.
COWI is a leading international consulting company that collaborates closely across borders. With us, you will have the opportunity to work in a diverse professional environment with colleagues from different backgrounds, ages, and experiences, but with a common driving force: to contribute to the green transition.
The transition to a zero-emission energy sector is in full progress in Norway, Europe, and the rest of the world. Electrification is happening rapidly, and we have a crucial job ahead of us to meet the climate goals by 2030. With us, you will become part of a skilled, interdisciplinary environment delivering projects within renewable energy, power grids, and energy solutions, both nationally and internationally.
Your key responsibillities will be:
- Advising, planning, and designing of network facilities, power and transformer stations, as well as cable and overhead lines.
- Designing electrical high-voltage installations for network companies, industrial customers, and power producers.
- Preparing technical descriptions and professional reports.
- Network calculations (load flow, short circuit, dynamic simulations, etc.).
- Technical and economic assessments.
- Participating in site inspections and acting as an advisor for our clients.
- Project management and follow-up from specification to completed facility.
- Contributing with quality assurance and professional support in projects.
- Preparing documentation for concession applications for network and transformer stations
Qualifications
The first step to success in this role is that you are willing to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways, but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.
On top of that, you have:
- Higher relevant education (BSc/MSc) in electrical power engineering.
- 1–5 years of experience, but we also consider recent graduates with the right academic background.
- A good understanding of electrical power installations and processes in the power system, including grounding and cable systems.
- strong communication skills in both Norwegian and English, written and oral.
- Enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams and want to contribute to an inclusive and positive work environment.
- Are creative, engaged, and curious about developing yourself and others.
