Product Development Lead

Nutrimar is currently expanding its Research & Development group. We are looking for someone who can bring a solution-oriented mindset with a sound understanding of Nutrition, ideally with the petfood industry. In this role you will be expected to implement the vision and strategy for new product developments and product life-cycle management of existing products. Coordinate with marketing, sales manufacturing to ensure products meet the organizations financial goals. As The R&D group is cross cutting your work focus areas will be broad, namely protein and oil products from salmon and chicken by-product, as well as feed & pharma with regards to kelp.

Responsibilities:

• Oversees all product development projects
• Stays current with the latest trends in merchandise. Keeps up to date with changes in the market and technology that would affect new product development
• Bridge the gap between market expectations, QA and Technical teams
• Formulate new ideas and strategies to maximize market potential
• Prepares cost analysis on the development of a new products
• Creates marketing material to inform existing and potential clients on new product availability
• Research patents, copyrights and trademarks in order to make sure there are no infringement issues involved
• Evaluate customer feedback and identify improvements – execute change
• Conduct and manage end product testing. In vivo/in vitro testing
• Project ownership and management regarding product development
• Assist R&D director on project management and engagement with industrial stakeholders and academic institutions where necessary
• Providing support to R&D director as required

The company language is Norwegian, so a good understanding of Norwegian is essential. In addition, good understanding of English is beneficial.

Relevant qualifications:

• Bachelors or higher qualification in e.g. business management or marketing
• Experience with data handling, analysis, and reporting
• Motivated individual that can work independently and in a team
• Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with others
• Ability to draw together complex and diverse data into a logical and easy to use format
• Solution orientated
• 3+ years relevant experience
• Possesses good marketing skills
• Has excellent leadership abilities
• Is able to prioritize activities and meet deadlines

Our salmon and Kelp lines are on Frøya, and we are planning to build a chicken by-product facility in Orkanger. We have an office space in Trondheim as well. This means that some flexibility will be accepted. Both local and international travel will be expected. The position will report directly to the R&D Director.
