Process Innovation Lead

Nutrimar is currently expanding its Research & Development group. We are looking for someone who can bring a solution-oriented mindset with a sound understanding of process development and control to the team. As the R&D team at Nutrimar is cross cutting this role will not only be limited to salmon by-product processing but will eventually expand across the chicken and kelp divisions too.

Responsibilities:

• Active improvements and further development of process-related standards and procedures in collaboration with technical and quality teams
• Analyse production data, identify production inefficiencies and quality issues, project development, managing and implementation
• Writing and management of project proposals, as well as project risk analysis regarding implementation or change of new equipment on lines
• Become a constructive link between R&D, quality and production

In summary, we want you to work actively with process-oriented challenges, identify new opportunities for improvement and implement them. You should have a good mix of process knowledge, analytical skills and a desire to learn and develop as a leader in a challenging environment.
The company language is Norwegian, so a good understanding of Norwegian is essential. In addition, good understanding of English is beneficial.

Relevant background:

• Educated with a master’s degree or higher within process. i.e., Process engineer
• Industrial experience, ideally as a project leader
• Leadership experience or courses
• Organised and able to communicate clearly and effectively with others
• Ability to draw together complex and diverse data into a logical and easy to use format
• Solution orientated
• Natural authority with good team skills
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with e.g., Process Control, Food Processing, and/or Process Chemistry
• Additionally experience with continuous improvement tools (lean-PDCA loop, six Sigma-DMAIC projects, TOC- bottleneck analysis) would be beneficial

Our salmon and Kelp lines are on Frøya, and we are planning to build a chicken by-product facility in Orkanger. We have an offices space in Trondheim as well. This means that some flexibility will be accepted. However, the first year of employment majority (80%) of your time will be spent on Frøya.
The position will report directly to the R&D Director.
