About the role

Our Subsea team consist of highly qualified engineers working closely with key players in the Oil & Gas and Energy industries in Norway and globally.

We combine our domain knowledge and subject matter expertise in a strong technical environment making us the preferred advisor to the energy sector. Our independent position brings us close to both the manufacturers, engineering companies, operators, and industrial research institutes.

Our service portfolio includes advisory, verification and consultancy services related to:

• Subsea production and processing systems
• Subsea components
• Technology qualification
• Operational support and failure investigation
• Digital twin technology

DNV is a key player in the industry by developing technical standards and recommended practices in collaboration with operators and suppliers. A key focus is to maintain our strong position with the Oil & Gas industry, and at the same time develop our positions related to decarbonization, offshore wind and ocean space in general.

To strengthen our team, DNV is looking for an experienced mechanical / subsea engineer with deep technical understanding in Subsea technology and the ability to facilitate projects for our customers.

Typical tasks and expectations are listed below:

• Provide technical expert advice and solutions to customers
• Plan and execute work with required quality and within agreed schedule and budget
• Able to be project manager for complex projects involving several competence areas/disciplines
• Participate in tendering for new projects
• Collaborates with industry professionals
• Deep understanding of technology and industry issues relevant for own area of expertise.
• Active support to customers
• Initiates and contributes to the development of DNV best practices and services, both within own profession and by combining several technical and commercial competence areas
• Communicates effectively and respectfully to achieve results
• Experience or interest in facilitating workshops for multi-discipline teams.

About you

The candidate shall have:

• M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Technical knowledge of offshore technology and subsea production systems, including subsea process systems.
• Competence in mechanical engineering subjects 15-20+ years of experience
• Work experience within one or several of the following areas:
  • specification of technical requirements/international standards for oil and gas industry projects
  • implementation of technical requirements
  • mechanical design / analysis experience
  • knowledge of integrity management methodologies
  • facilitation of workshops within technical safety (FMECA, HAZOP etc.)
  • Technology qualification for subsea or offshore equipment
• Comprehensive Norwegian and English language skills, verbal and written
