We are looking for a Principal Engineer to strengthen our LCI & Requirements Engineering department in Oslo. As a Principal Engineer you will perform and work with the Piping Materials Engineering Team in offshore oil & gas projects and wind and hydrogen production.

About the position

In this role, you will contribute significantly to the timely delivery of project specifications for bulk materials and valves. Your leadership will involve providing guidance and motivation to your colleagues, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Your expertise is essential in ensuring that every team member understands contractual requirements, goals, and risks. In Aibel your contributions can have a real impact on project success and team cohesion.

Responsibilities and tasks include

  • Develop new and modify existing pipe class sheets, Piping Detail Standard, work instructions and guidelines
  • Detailed calculations and verifications of piping components and connectors
  • Specification of bulk items, valve selection in specifications
  • High pressure piping, steam piping, and assessments such as acoustic fatigue mitigations
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes and standards for scope of work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience is required, where minimum 5 in specification/material calculations
  • Multidisciplinary understanding
  • Comprehensive understanding of International Standards (ASME, ASTM, API), Norwegian Acts and regulations (Trykkdirektivet/PED)
  • Experience with NORSOK is preferred, familiar with DNV, EN, ISO
