About the role
Offshore Class Approval, Offshore Equipment, Mooring and Diving Section
DNV Offshore Class ensures the safety of Offshore Floating units like FPSOs, FLNGs, Drilling Rigs and FSOs and in addition we also work in newer segments such as Offshore Wind, Fish Farms and other floating infrastructures.
Our section Offshore Equipment, Mooring and Diving is responsible for review of mechanical components for offshore applications including mooring, and we are also working with project management tasks for Offshore applications. We are also responsible for ensuring the safety of Diving systems for DNV classed units.
Our group has strong technical knowledge within our competence areas and we have a dynamic work-environment with the opportunity to develop and learn new skills through the day-to-day job.
Planned tasks for summer students in M-OC-AE for 2027 includes:
- Develop advanced analysis techniques related to mechanical/marine component interactions
- Develop tools in cooperation with fellow summer student and DNV employees
- Assisting DNV engineers with their daily tasks, e.g. support on calculations used as basis for verification/certification of components etc.

About you
Who are we looking for?
- Highly motivated students who are curious, self-going and willing to develop new competencies.
- A pro-active attitude to engage with other to find good solutions.
- Good communication skills in English. Knowledge of Norwegian is a preference.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn FEA for basic use
- Good digital skills and interest for AI is an advantage
We are primarily seeking 3rd and 4th year students with relevant Bachelor/Master Program specialization in:
- Naval Architechture
- Computer Science/ Information Science
