About the role

Are you a proactive and engaged professional looking to support dynamic leaders in the maritime industry? We are seeking an Management Assistant to assist our Director of Ship Classification and his management team ensuring smooth and efficient operations across various business units. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders and gain deep insights into our diverse organization.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordination and Planning: Ensure efficient execution of activities by prioritizing incoming inquiries and tasks to facilitate an effective workday for the Director of Ship Classification.
  • Collaboration: Work with a wide range of people within the DNV organization and external stakeholders, gaining deep insights into our diverse operations.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in an environment with parallel tasks, complexity, unforeseen events, and dynamic schedules. Pay attention to detail while maintaining a holistic view.
  • Challenge Acceptance: Ensure repetitive tasks are handled with quality and efficiency.

Your Tasks Will Include:

  • Administrative Support: Manage the offices of the Director of Ship Classification and members of the management team, including scheduling meetings, managing invitations, and coordinating calendars.
  • Travel Management: Handle travel itineraries, visa processes, and expense claims.
  • Event Organization: Organize internal and external events and dinners.
  • Preparation and Follow up: Prepare presentations, update regular reports and follow up with minutes of meetings.
  • Relationship Management: Establish and maintain exceptional working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Confidentiality: Act as a gatekeeper, handling confidential information with good judgment, excellent communication, and tact..

About you

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Coordinator, an Assistant or similar role in a corporate and international environment.
  • Education: Preferably a Bachelor’s degree, relevant work experience can compensate for higher education.
  • Skills: Structured with high working capacity, demonstrating significant results characterized by quality and precision. Excellent English skills, both written and spoken. Preferably Norwegian language skills.
  • Adaptability: Highly adaptable, comfortable managing changes effectively and confidently.
  • Service-Minded: Perceived as service-minded and trustworthy, with high integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experienced in Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


Location: The position is based at our headquarters in Høvik, beautifully located close to the sea. The office offers various benefits like a canteen, sports clubs with access to sailboats, kayaks, tennis courts, etc. It is easily accessible through free shuttle buses from both Sandvika and Skøyen stations. DNV also provides company cabins and organizes many social events.
