As a partner to industry, we offer services in testing, certification, training, and technical advisory through the energy value chain. That means we’re continually investing heavily into R&D for new services and solutions while proactively assessing what the industry needs today and tomorrow.
About the role
Do you want to help accelerate the green transition in maritime transport?
Green Shipping Programme (GSP) is a public-private partnership working to develop the world’s most efficient and environmentally friendly shipping sector – in Norway[KA2] . The programme is administered by DNV and includes the Service Centre for Green Fleet Renewal, a dedicated team of expert consultants supporting shipowners and cargo owners in turning green vessel concepts into real contracts and profitable operations.
The maritime industry is entering a phase of profound transformation, driven by the global and regional regulations e.g. IMO Net-Zero Framework and FuelEU Maritime to reduce emissions. This shift brings both complexity and cost, as low GHG emission fuels are phased in. Our mission is to help accelerate this transition by supporting the pioneers – shipowners and cargo owners who see strategic opportunities in going green.
We help them develop profitable business cases and get low-and zero emission vessels on the water (e.g. batteries, fuel cells, hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, CCS and hybrid solutions). To do this, we collaborate closely with the full maritime ecosystem: shipowners, cargo owners, designers, equipment manufacturers[KA3] , brokers, financiers, classification societies, shipyards, and fuel producers.
The Service Centre primarily works with cargo-carrying segments (shortsea container, RoRo, bulk, reefer), offshore (OSV, PSV, SOV), and aquaculture (wellboats, feed and service vessels). Since 2020, we’ve supported over 160 vessel projects, with 10 now under construction.
We’re now looking for a Junior Consultant to join our team and help expand our capacity. The consultant will be hired by DNV and be part of DNV’s Maritime Advisory organization and will work full-time with the Green Shipping Programme.
Key responsibilities:
- Contribute to early-phase feasibility assessments of low-and zero emission solutions, e.g. batteries, fuel cells, hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, CCS and hybrid solutions.
- Collect and analyse data (CAPEX/OPEX, fuel prices, GHG emission impact, route profiles) to support decision-making.
- Support shipowners in applying for Enova funding, including coordinating the process and co-writing applications.
- Coordinate and maintain the Service Centre’s project portfolio, tracking status, milestones, and barriers in our CRM system.
- Prepare concise policy and market briefs in both Norwegian and English.
- Develop meeting materials, minutes, and follow-ups; plan and facilitate workshops and events.
- Create high-quality presentations and content for stakeholder communication (slides, one-pagers, web/LinkedIn).
