Regulatory Affairs is part of DNV - Maritime, the world's leading classification society, and drives the industry transition towards a smart and sustainable future. The unit plays a vital role in enabling DNV and its customers navigate the transformation of decarbonisation and digitalisation and the increasing regulatory complexity that comes with it.

In Regulatory Affairs, we take part in the development of policies and standards in international bodies such as the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), the EU, and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Regulatory Affairs works closely with all major flag States in the world and manages DNV’s authorisations to carry out inspection and certification on behalf of governments - as Recognised Organisation (RO). Furthermore, the unit manages DNV's engagement with international industry associations such as IACS, and internally, collaborates closely with operations, production and business development teams to pursue DNV’s priorities – making impact on global maritime safety and environmental sustainability – to develop new insights and deliver excellent classification and statutory services.

We are seeking a new Product Owner for IMO-Vega.

Developed jointly by IMO and DNV, IMO-Vega is a powerful database and the official source digital source of international maritime regulations for the maritime industry.

You - as the owner - will influence how the digital solution is shaped going forward. You will take part in its development and once upgrades are delivered, you will have the responsibility to maintain its content and to continue making it great as a product.

This is a very impactful way to work closely with the IMO to promote maritime safety and sustainability and, to help the maritime industry digitalise truly at the same time.

About you

Tasks and responsibilities of the role

  • Owner the new IMO-Vega digital solution and liaison to IMO Secretariat for this product
  • Manager of development, content, and maintenance and single point of contact, including carrying out the following tasks:
    • Produces two releases annually and is responsible for overall quality assurance of the product
    • Maps customer needs, defines value proposition and fulfills it through the product and its scaling
    • Scopes the product, i.e.: defines what is included in the product development and delivery
    • Drives interaction with internal stakeholders, among others Class Services (Rules & Standards, Class Development, business units in production, business development, marketing & communications and implementation teams)
    • Ensures integration with products and processes in DNV Maritime
    • Manages external stakeholders
    • Promotes sales and marketing
    • Monitors user experience, uptake and maintains product
    • Provides training and support to internal and external users
    • Provides DNV management with status updates and plans for development
    • Evolves the business model as needed on the basis of value proposition

Candidate Profile:

  • Passion and dedication to own and deliver a high quality product/service
  • Highly motivated to explore and continue developing the design and value proposition of the product
  • Excited to drive stakeholder engagement
  • Interested and familiar or curious about regulatory development
  • Committed to ensuring quality assurance and consistent to detail in published content
  • Works in structured way and comfortable with indexing and organising of content and tasks
  • Fluent in English
  • Competence with XML, HTML, Enterprise Search technology is a plus

Position is located in Høvik.
