About the role
We are looking for a highly motivated, skilled, and enthusiastic Head of Section, Safety Risk and Reliability in DNV Maritime Advisory to support our customers through the safe transformation of decarbonization and digitalization in shipping.
The section works closely with maritime clients to provide them with the foundation to make risk-based decisions on operational and technical issues. Our client base ranges from large entities such as IMO, EMSA, flag states, navies etc. to international ship owners, shipyards, and operators, as well as smaller voluntary organizations.
As Head of Section, you will be part of a highly experienced management team and report to Head of Department Safety Advisory in Maritime Advisory. Successful connection and collaboration with maritime regions and advisory hubs, service lines and business development leaders are essential to ramp up our full capabilities within safety advisory towards our customers globally.
You will be challenged in all aspects of consultancy from customer relations, sales and project portfolio management to HR and finance. Our engagements vary greatly, and we take pride in understanding and dealing with emerging challenges in the maritime industry. You will contribute to idea generation, innovation and service development. We emphasize the importance of close interaction with our customers. About you
Activities covered by the position:
- Lead sales and customer management
- Contract and project portfolio responsible for the section
- Take an active role in business development
- Drive innovation processes in the section and secure renewal and improvement of services
- Develop annual plans, sales plans and KPIs for own unit and follow up implementation
- Contribute to project delivery
- Manage individual performance, reward, and remuneration processes
- Be project manager and project sponsor when appropriate
- Work closely with other maritime advisory hubs globally
Position Qualifications:
- You have minimum 5 years of safety and risk related experience and a consulting mindset in maritime or related business areas
- Preferably a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
- The successful candidate should have good knowledge about the maritime industry, the regulatory regime, and the emerging safety gaps due to decarbonization and digitalization in shipping
- Consulting profile and experience
- Knowledge and strong interest in our services
- Knowledge of the maritime market, regulatory framework and emerging safety gaps
- Experience from a multinational environment
- Multidisciplinary understanding
- Possible locations for the position is Høvik, Bergen and Ålesund, Norway.
