About the role
DNV Maritime Advisory provides support to customers in the global Maritime industry in their efforts to make the right decisions to ensure safe, sustainable and profitable operations. We are a leading provider of services and products to the Maritime industry having the capabilities, experience, and track record to deliver high value assurance, mobilizing the full potential of customers’ assets and operations, putting technical matters and business decisions into meaningful context to achieve optimal results. Control Systems and Cybernetics Advisory is a key service line in Maritime Advisory and delivers services to customers globally. Based in Trondheim, the section builds on the legacy of Marine Cybernetics and uses advanced simulation technologies to provide high-quality control system assurance and vessel performance analysis services.
The section consists of 12 professionals, and we are now looking for an energetic and forward-thinking leader to head the team with:
- Strong leadership experience in maritime advisory
- Good networks and experience from offshore and DP operations
- Customer centricity and consulting mindset
As Head of Section Control Systems and Cybernetics, you will lead a high performing group of professionals focusing on control systems and automation, and services towards DP capability and operation of DP vessels. Clients are energy companies, rig/ship owners, design companies, ports and government agencies. You will set direction, develop people, develop in-house product portfolio and grow impactful advisory engagements that advance the offshore industry towards safer, smarter, and greener operations.
The successful candidate shall have broad experience in running a professional consulting business including human resources, customer interactions, business development, product development, sales, project management and project resource allocation.
Further, the candidate shall have good networks and experience from offshore DP operations and be eager to understand the needs and wants of the maritime market.
The successful candidate will be reporting to Head of Department for Safety, Risk and Systems Advisory. The role includes close interaction and collaboration with the Maritime Advisory extended leadership team, global Business Development and Key Account Managers.
You will be challenged in all aspects of business development and consultancy from customer relations, sales, product and project portfolio management. Our engagements vary greatly, and we take pride in understanding and dealing with emerging challenges in the maritime industry. You will contribute to idea generation, innovation and service and product development. We emphasize the importance of close interaction with our customers. We believe that a detailed understanding of the problem ensures good solutions. Our global network will allow you to take part in exciting engagements all over the world.
Activities covered by the position:
- Lead sales and customer management
- Manage partnerships with key clients
- Contract and project portfolio management
- Take an active role in business development
- Develop annual plans, sales plans and KPIs for own unit and follow up implementation
- Manage individual performance, reward, and remuneration processes
- Be project manager and project sponsor when appropriate
- Contribute to project delivery
- Collaborate with other maritime advisory teams globally
