Head of Discipline - Project execution and management

As the Head of Discipline, your main tasks will be to develop the group’s employees and contribute to your own projects. The team currently consists of approx. 28 project experts, including document controllers, project controllers, design managers and project managers based in Oslo, Fredrikstad, Bergen, Stavanger and Kristiansand.

You will have personnel responsibility and be responsible for the employees’ general professional development and social well-being. At the same time, you will serve as a subject matter expert within the group and play an active role as senior specialist / discipline lead on projects.

Key responsibilities/activities/tasks:

• Lead and role model according to COWI's leadership behaviours and values
• Lead discipline group outside their project work, responsible for technical and professional development
• Develop and follow up on development, competence and performance goals for the team in collaboration with our leadership team
• Contribute to workforce and resource planning
• Contribute to business development and tendering initiatives
• Take ownership of your own projects. Act as a senior specialist / discipline lead on projects for the majority of the available time.

On top of that, you will have:

• Relevant higher education from university/college
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, preferably in a consulting environment
• Excellent overview and deep insight into the field the discipline is working with
• Genuine interest in working with and developing people
• Solid business understanding
• High level of drive and execution capability
• Excellent communication skills in Norwegian and English, both orally and written

Previous leadership experience is not an absolute requirement for the position. We encourage those with leadership aspirations and competence in project management to apply.
