With over 93 offices worldwide, COWI is a leading international consulting group which is providing clients with innovative and sustainable solutions to complex challenges within large infrastructure, sustainable energy, climate adaptation, water and buildings.

COWI Norway consists of 3 business units with 1.450+ employees across Norway. The Finance function holds approximately 25 people within the areas of Project and Business Controlling and Accounting.

As Head of Section, you will play a pivotal role in bringing the business increasingly closer to our Finance Department, which will require significant change management and stakeholder relationship skills. You will report to the CFO, COWI Norway and have a close cooperation with your peers and the management team.

Play a vital role in setting the direction for our Finance department

As Head of Controlling, you will be responsible for the overall project- and business controlling. Furthermore, you will participate in Group wide development projects. This position entails to further develop and build a team of 10 employees in Norway and 11 employees indirectly who are based in Lithuania, as part of a matrix organization. Together with the SVP for COWI Norway Finance, you will be an important contributor in the Finance Leadership team in COWI Norway.

On a daily basis, your typical tasks will be:

• People leadership, promote engagement and ensure competency development and well-being in the team
• Further strengthen business partnering mindset, new analytical tools and processes which are future proof
• Ensure that the financial management of the Business Line is conducted in compliance with local legal requirements, policies and rules
• Contribute to the implementation of new policies and corporate initiatives.

In addition, you recognize yourself in:

• Relevant leadership experience from a Finance function
• You have an MSc in finance or any other relevant degree
• Experience with change management and preferably worked with remote leadership
• The ability to coach and develop a skilled group of professionals with confidence and maturity
• Experience from a large matrix organization is an advantage
• Fluency in English and a Scandinavian language - both written and spoken.
