Group Compliance Officer

We are seeking a senior executive leader for the position as Group Compliance Officer.
This function reports directly to the Chief People Officer (CPO) and works closely with Group CEO. The function also reports to the Board of Directors (Audit Committee), providing regular updates. Group Compliance Officer is leading a team of six highly qualified people based in Oslo and Hamburg.
The Group Compliance Officer is responsible for establishing, implementing and overseeing DNV’s ethics and compliance program with a focus on anti-corruption and anti-trust, personal data protection and supply chain laws as well as empowering the Business Areas to take on more responsibilities in export control/sanctions, integrating it seamlessly into their regular duties.
The Group Compliance Officer plays a pivotal role in shaping DNV’s culture by actively promoting business ethics and integrity across all compliance topics within the organization. The role involves monitoring and assessing compliance risks, implementing strategies to mitigate them, and staying updated on regulatory changes to ensure the organization’s policies reflect the latest legal standards.
As the Group Compliance Officer, you will advise the Group CEO on incidents that could pose medium to high risks for DNV or are of general interest, and you will oversee the implementation of and adherence to the DNV Code of Conduct. In addition, you will serve as a trusted advisor to management, guide them on risk prevention related to the above-mentioned topics and develop a strategic approach to adapt to the program's evolving landscape.
We are looking for a proactive leader who is on the forefront of developments and trends, including on digitalization as a tool to increase support and efficiency in Compliance, also for the business areas. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance initiatives into business operations and ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions. You will plan and initiative proactive initiatives, incl. developing and delivering training programs, to promote a culture of ethics and compliance throughout the organization.

About you
This senior leadership role requires a dynamic individual with strong legal qualifications and a proven track record of managing complex risk areas within a global organisation. Knowledge of the maritime and energy, alternatively technology, industry would be highly beneficial.
As the Group Compliance Officer, you should have:
- Master’s degree in law or state exam from an accredited law school, preferably from Norway, UK, or Germany
- 10+ years’ work experience in multinational law firms or in-house legal department of multinational corporations.
- Experience in leading a legal or compliance program for a multi-national company and supporting and collaborating with stakeholders at all organizational levels
- International experience working across diverse cultures and in multiple countries, preferrable having lived abroad
- Demonstrable ability to drive global, enterprise-wide policies and practices by using digital tools
- Strong business and customer understanding, gained through close collaboration with business and compliance teams in various sectors, particularly in the maritime and energy industries, as well as critical infrastructure and IT/Cyber.

- Able to utilize digitalization as a tool to support and improve efficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in additional European languages is a plus
- Profound knowledge on the shipping / maritime and energy industry
