We are looking for graduate/consultants (MSc or PhD) specializing in Marine Hydrodynamics, to join our office at Lerkendal in Trondheim.

As a graduate/junior consultant at Norconsult, you will be involved in projects, collaborate with clients, learn from experienced engineers, and take on real responsibility from day one. Through advanced engineering and interdisciplinary collaboration, you’ll help solve tomorrow’s challenges. Every day, we improve everyday life – this extends to the marine environment, where your engineering excellence and our commitment to sustainable development will shape a better future.

Our marine technology team works on a wide range of innovative and complex interdisciplinary marine projects. These include concept development of floating closed aquaculture systems – both rigid and flexible – as well as projects within offshore wind, coastal infrastructure, and fjord crossings. The team has specialized expertise in the analysis and design of marine structures, and we contribute across all phases, from feasibility studies and conceptual design to detailed engineering and third-party verification.

We are now strengthening our efforts and seeking motivated and talented professionals to help further develop our marine technology capabilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Hydrodynamic analyses
  • Hydroelastic analyses, including the use of membranes
  • Stability analyses
  • Dynamic mooring analyses (quayside and offshore)
  • Multibody dynamic analyses
  • Analyses of slender marine structures
  • CFD analyses
  • Concept development of marine structures, such as floating closed and semi-closed aquaculture containment systems, in collaboration with clients
  • Verification of marine concepts against site conditions
  • Consulting and guidance for model tests and laboratory testing
  • Producing reports, calculations, and technical documentation
  • Technical discipline oversight within projects
  • Project management

For us, it is important that you:

  • Are in your final year of study (MSc/PhD) in Marine Technology with a specialization in Marine Hydrodynamics, or with up to 3 years’ working experience within this discipline
  • Have strong analytical skills and are motivated by learning and developing new numerical modelling tools
  • Are accurate, solution-oriented, and proactive
  • Can work well independently and as part of a team
  • Contribute to a good social and professional environment
  • Have good communication skills in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken.

It is also advantageous if you:

  • Have knowledge of dynamic loads, structural dynamics and oceanography
  • Are familiar with software/languages such as SIMA, WAMIT, DNV SESAM, REEF3D, SWAN, Abaqus, Python, Matlab, etc.

With us, you will receive:

  • Professional challenges with opportunities for self-development in exciting, complex, and innovative projects
  • Exciting opportunities for skill enhancement and career advancement within marketing, discipline expertise, line management, and projects
  • A strong corporate culture characterized by informal communication channels across the organization and geography
  • Participation in professional networks, mentorship, and buddy programs.
  • A dedicated forum for younger employees with direct access to the company's top management (Young Council).
  • Time off during the entire Christmas and Easter weeks, as well as flexible working hours and a 7-hour workday during the summer.
  • A bonus linked to the company's annual financial performance
  • A stock ownership program in Norway's largest interdisciplinary consultancy firm
  • Competitive salary and employment conditions
  • Study trips, social events, company sports, cabins, etc.
