About the role

The Global Process Owner (GPO) for Cash Management and Credit Collection plays a pivotal role in driving the performance of GSS services and related processes within this domain, contributing to the achievement of key annual objectives. The GPO is accountable for the global design, governance, standardization, and continuous improvement of processes spanning Accounts Receivable, Cash Collection, Banking Operations, Dispute Handling, and Credit Management. The role ensures end‑to‑end process excellence, compliance, and digitalization in alignment with DNV’s Digital World Class ambitions and the GSS governance model.

This role is responsible for developing and managing processes that align with GSS strategic priorities across Customer Value and Experience, Efficiency and Productivity, and Quality and Compliance. The position reports directly to the GSS Finance Stream Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the global Cash Management and Credit Collection processes, end‑to‑end.
  • Establish and maintain global governance, controls, policies, and documentation for these processes.
  • Act as the gatekeeper for process‑related changes, ensuring alignment with DMSG, Group Finance and enterprise architecture.
  • Define, document, and continuously update the standardized global “To‑Be” process design for Credit Collection, AR management, Banking Operations, and Cash Allocation.
  • Drive process harmonization across regions in alignment with best practices in Global Business Services.
  • Develop and maintain process maps, Service Level Agreement documentation, and risk & control matrices.
  • Proactively monitor and evaluate service and process performance using KPIs for DSO, overdue debt, unapplied cash, bank clearing times, etc.
  • Lead improvement initiatives—including automation, digitalization, and data‑driven insights—to improve productivity, customer experience, and quality.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Reporting, and Digitalization & Development teams to prioritize improvements.
  • Shape functional and technical requirements for tools such as Sidetrade, Oracle, Power BI, bank platforms, and webforms (MyGSS).
  • Serve as the primary link between GSS operations and IT/Group functions on system standardization and enhancements.
  • Provide expert guidance to AR, Credit Collection, and Banking Operations teams.
  • Govern cross-functional alignment with AP, R2R, Group Treasury, Intercompany, and operational delivery units.
  • Support dispute management, cash application rules, credit risk assessments, and escalation routines.
  • Ensure compliance with internal regulations, tax rules affecting cash transactions, credit policies, and audit requirements.
  • Maintain strong internal control frameworks across all touchpoints.
  • Engage with global, regional, and local stakeholders to align priorities and ensure adherence to standards.
  • Represent the Cash Management & Credit Collection process in governance forums and cross-functional steering groups.

About you

Competency Requirements:

  • Process Knowledge and Standardisation: Deep understanding of Cash Management and Credit Collection processes, including upstream and downstream dependencies. This includes driving global standardised process design and implementation.
  • System and Domain Knowledge: Proficiency in analytics, reporting, and using tools like Onguard, Oracle, or Power BI to monitor Cash Management & Credit Collection metrics and identify improvement areas.
  • Governance: Establishing and maintain process governance and controls,striving to achieve high quality processes, play an enabling role and be responsible for overall design and governance.
  • Financial and Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of accounts receivable, cash management, (withholding) tax regulations, and compliance requirements for global operations.
  • Change Management and Leadership: Proven capability to lead transformation projects, implement new tools or processes, and drive cultural adoption across global teams.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication: Strong ability to collaborate with suppliers, internal teams, and global stakeholders to streamline Compliance workflows.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align Cash Management & Credit Collection operations processes with organizational strategic goals.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience within a similar role or operational role required, with knowledge from the Cash Management & Credit Collection domain.
  • Experience in process ownership roles or leading transformation initiatives is highly preferred.
