Floater Group Manager

Aibel is strengthening the floater group within Concepts&Studies due to high activity within Floaters within Offshore Wind, Aquaculture and Field Development

About the position

The group is supporting internal floater development, Client studies and Execution projects. The Floater Group will work integrated in a highly competent multidiscipline Team performing studies and projects.

Responsibilities and tasks include

• Conceptual Design of Floating Structures
• Be a doer within Structural and Marine design and analyses
• Perform all types of structural FE analyses
• Perform hydrodynamic design and analyses for Global Performance and loading on structures
• Perform stability design and simulations
• Perform mooring design and simulations
• Include Cable or riser system in the simulation models.

Qualifications

• Preferably a Master degree
• Preferably +10 years of relevant experience from the oil & gas and Offshore Wind industry, specific experience with design/engineering of Floaters for offshore applications
• Fluent English (oral and writing)

Personal qualities

• Demonstrated good communication skills across customers, partners/suppliers and internally and ability to present across employees and management
• Establish library of Floater designs/design elements and features, drive efficiency and quality improvements in own unit, apply digital tools
• Ability to drive weight&cost efficient Floater designs, ability to learn from previous execution contracts to better support risk management and profitability in execution in the way new concepts, services and execution models are developed.
• Capacity to define and implement strategies across market/customers, deliveries (projects, services), business models (execution models w/wo partners, financial models) and organizational development (structure, competence)
• Ability to build team, set direction, lead towards concrete goals and build trust amongst own employees and within the organization.
