About DNV Ventures

DNV Ventures is DNV’s Corporate Venture Capital unit and is mandated to deliver financial and strategic value for DNV by investing and collaborating with digital start-ups and internal DNV start-ins. DNV Ventures channels DNV’s role, competency, and existing positions to fast-moving start-ups to accelerate growth and innovation faster. In DNV Ventures we are lucky to work closely with fantastic founding teams, co-investors, and our breadth of expert colleagues to create new value for start-ups and DNV.

For this purpose, DNV Ventures is looking for a finance and investment manager. The finance and investment manager will support the DNV Ventures team with the financial management of DNV Ventures hereby;

  • Be responsible for portfolio performance reporting,
  • Ensure DNV Ventures has robust financial management.
  • Support DNV venture directors with valuations and investing in new start-ups.
  • Support DNV start-ins with financial management.

The right candidate will join a newly established team and have the opportunity to develop the function.

Role Description

  • Be responsible for collecting financial data from start-ups and keeping DNV Ventures performance reporting system updated.
  • Be responsible for performance reporting of DNV Ventures portfolio and ensure that DNV Ventures reporting is according to industry best practices.
  • Prepare presentations and board documents and support DNV Ventures with good governance.
  • Be responsible for DNV Ventures financial management and budget control.
  • Build positive relationships with DNV start-ins and help steer their development in a commercial and financially sound direction by being hands on and supporting with financial management.
  • Establish collaboration and good relationships between DNV Group finance team.
  • Support Investment Directors with investing in new start-ups including sourcing new prospects, conducting investment analysis and presenting the prospects to the investment team.

Experience:

  • Experience from investing and venture performance reporting in VC/CVC and/or financial management experience from growth companies or related investment firms.

About you

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strategic, commercial, and analytical mindset.
  • High interest in scaling start-ups and understanding of a venture’s growth journey.
  • Strong ability to take initiative, source tasks independently and thrive with building a new role and function from concept to operations.
    structured working methods and enjoying working with financial management and governance.
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Education:

  • Masters Degree in a financial or economics subject or equivalent experience.
