Engineer
Supporting the industry for safe and sustainable operations of subsea assets
DNV is looking for a dedicated engineer with material/subsea background to further strengthen our position in the oil and gas market. Our Subsea, Drilling and Well team is located both in Bergen and Høvik, and we are seeking to expand and develop our team in Bergen with a graduate engineer. Our team consists of highly qualified engineers working closely with key players in the O&G industry in Norway and globally.
The candidate will work within the team in Bergen focusing on the Re-certification of Well Control equipment. We assist the industry in maintaining the integrity of technical and operational barriers for safety critical equipment, systems, and operations.
The successful candidate will work closely together with colleagues in the section and together with experts within DNV globally. Your main task will include some of the following elements:
- Review and verification of documentation for various types of equipment
- Follow up and witness activities at contractors
- Evaluate results from inspections, within welding and NDT as the main areas
- Assessment and/or verification of systems for inspection/integrity management
- Communication with our clients
- Support/assist on projects in the section as applicable
Our section service portfolio includes:
- Recertification of well control equipment
- QA/QC of Subsea production and processing systems
- Technology Qualification
- Verification, certification and type approval
- Operational support and failure investigation
- Third- and second-party inspection.
Position Qualifications
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Relevant university degree (M.Sc/B.Sc) or equivalent in mechanical engineering /petroleum technology or similar
- Up to 2 years’ experience as an engineer
- Good attentions to details with regards to equipment, documentation, maintenance, etc.
- Good knowledge materials and components and how systems work together
- Experience within subsea equipment and relevant industry standards is useful
- Basic knowledge of NDT and welding
- Good communicative skills, both written and oral
- Good Norwegian and English language skills, verbal and written.
