About the role
Ship Classification covers Classification and Statutory services and provides governance, support, and development of our global work processes NB, CMC, and FIS in addition to carrying out approval within these processes. Ship Classification is the backbone of the Maritime Business consisting of 6 units: Approval, Technical Support, Class Development, Quality, HSE and Class Services, and Regulatory Affairs.
Technical Support offers global support to all DNV regions for vessel operations. Technical Support Norway is divided into 7 sections, with 5 units in Høvik and 2 technical helpdesk units in Houston, and Singapore.
Since its establishment in 1992, the Emergency Response Service (ERS™) has aimed to safeguard life, property, and the environment while helping shipowners manage risks during emergencies.
ERS™ provides shore-based calculations of a vessel's stability and residual strength in scenarios like collisions, water ingress, cargo shifting, grounding, drifting, loss of stability, fires, or explosions.
Recognized by ship owners/managers, authorities, and insurers, ERS™ now supports over 4300 ships and offshore units and seeks to continually improve emergency support.
We are seeking an enthusiastic team member to join our dynamic group, support distressed vessels, increase market share, and further develop the ERS™.
This will involve tasks such as:
- Engage in daily tasks for NAPA model preparation and onboard documentation.
- Support in the maintenance and further development of our Drift prediction application.
- Support the ERS™ sales team by following up with customers on offers and contracts.
- Participate in customer meetings, seminars, and exercises while maintaining high quality in ERS™ systems and deliverables.

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science
- Skilled in Ship Stability and Marine Ecology
- Experienced with NAPA stability software; knowledge of NAPA ER module is a plus
- Experienced in sales and customer interaction
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Norwegian and English.
