Do you want to design substructures and foundations for the rapidly growing offshore wind industry? Can you supervise and direct an international multidisciplinary team of highly qualified engineers? And are you eager to make a difference? Then, read on. This could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Set the course for our offshore wind substructure and foundation design projects To develop tomorrow’s offshore wind projects, we are looking for a design manager to join our team. We are 150 committed colleagues in our Wind Energy and Renewables organisation working from Denmark, Norway and Germany. We are working alongside our customers on some of the most significant and innovative projects in the offshore wind industry. And we are thrilled to have contributed to projects such as Empire Offshore Wind and the Formosa 2 offshore wind farm.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Leading the design and engineering of substructures and foundations for offshore wind from feasibility stage through to detailed design, including construction support
  • Engaging as a key member of the project management team and being the customer’s main point of contact for technical issues
  • Taking overall design decisions
  • Providing guidance to the project team and leading by example
  • Ensuring that the design is according to requirements, including specifications and standards
  • Coordinating the development of the design between all technical disciplines and developing the interfaces between these.

Your skills. Our team. Together, we design the future.

The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners, or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.

On top of that, you will have:

  • A BSc, MSc or PhD in structural, marine, or geotechnical engineering and significant experience with the design of offshore wind or offshore oil and gas substructures
  • Experience with supporting and growing inter-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver on time, cost, and quality constraints
  • The ability to work across disciplines and manage cultural differences
  • Advanced communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • An outgoing and customer-oriented attitude with excellent collaboration skills
