The position

By joining our team in Technology, Digital & Innovation you will have the opportunity to:

Be part of a company that manages and utilizes data as a fundamental part of executing our technology strategy, including transforming us into a data-driven origination. Solid data architecture enables business innovation and is important to ensure correctness, efficiency, security and compliance with laws and regulations. Important topics are for example industry standards and initiatives, architecture frameworks and strategies, data quality and observability, DataOps, event-driven architectures, data modelling, and data technology choices.

Data Architects will play a vital role in fostering a data-driven culture and enhancing data capabilities.

Tasks for this position include:

  • Setting the vision for our organisation’s use of data, through data design, to meet business needs.
  • Supporting and/or advising on data architecture and product design to digital projects across the business areas.
  • Participating and driving data architecture and data management in the SSU disciplines in Equinor.
  • Working and collaborating closely with enterprise architects, data scientists and data engineers and other relevant roles.
  • Developing the data architecture competency in the organization, through participating in data architect networks and other relevant networks.
  • Optimizing data management, driving digital innovation, and empowering our stakeholders with actionable insights.

The position is within the Safety, security, and sustainability (SSU) Solution area. For this position, we are also looking for:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information science, data science, or other relevant fields.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within data and information management, including data modelling, metadata-management, data classification, data privacy and data security.
  • Experience within or a foundational knowledge of modern data architecture frameworks and strategies, including but not limited to SAP BW, data fabric, data mesh, and data lakehouse.
  • Experience within data platform design, implementation, and management, including technologies for data acquisition, storage and processing.
  • Experience or a fundamental knowledge about data engineering practices and technologies, including streaming and batch processing, data modelling for analytics, data lake/warehouse/lakehouse design, data quality/observability and DataOps.
  • Experience within or a fundamental knowledge about cloud architecture, software engineering practices, identity and access management and API management.
  • Foundational knowledge of enterprise architecture principles and frameworks is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to elicit requirements from various stakeholders across the organisation.
