About the role:
- The role combines strategic leadership, business collaboration, and strong technical capabilities, with a clear focus on turning data into actionable insights.
- You will work closely with business leaders and group counterparts, deliver high-quality analytics solutions in Power BI, and help mature Sweco Norway’s data-driven decision-making.
- Scandinavian language is a plus, but not a requirement.
- The role reports to the Finance Director
Key responsibilities:
- Define and drive Sweco Norway’s data and analytics direction, ensuring alignment with Sweco Group strategy
- Integrate, transform, and model data from multiple internal and external sources
- Enable and support local BI resources in developing executive, operational, and drill-down dashboards, providing guidance on best practices, standards, and Power BI capabilities.
- Represent Sweco Norway in Sweco Group’s data stewardship, collaborating closely with group functions and other Sweco countries
- Contribute to the development of data governance, best practices, and standards
- Support continuous improvement of data quality, performance, and analytical maturity
Required Competence & Experience:
- Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Analytics & Business Skills:
- Strong understanding of data analytics, data mining, and data visualization
- Proven ability to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to structure problems and propose solutions
- Experience working close to management and decision-makers
Power BI & Data Skills:
- Advanced Power BI experience, including:
- DAX, Power Query (M), Data modelling, Power BI Service
- Solid SQL skills, including query optimization and efficient data retrieval
- Experience working with multiple data sources and complex data models
Technical & Platform Experience:
- Experience with databases and data warehousing, preferably in Azure
- Experience building or maintaining ETL/ELT processes
- Programming experience in one or more Python, C#, JavaScript is seen as a plus
- Ability to understand and collaborate on technical architecture, even when not developing full solutions independently
