Automation/Senior Engineer

Jefferson Wells is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer for a long-term assignment with one of our clients. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in automation and SIS system design, particularly in brownfield modifications. The employment will be with Jefferson Wells, and the assignment is for a major engineering project in the oil & gas sector.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Participate in a large FEED project involving new platform design, brownfield modifications, and multiple contractual interfaces.
• Design, interface, and follow-up of ESD, PSD, and F&G Systems in collaboration with the automation team lead.
• Develop SAS Safety System design including functional specifications, hierarchy, cause & effect charts, FPDS, I/O configurations, and HMI sketches.
• Ensure SIS solutions are aligned with existing plant systems and meet integration requirements.
• Specify global SIS system design across contractual interfaces.
• Participate in multidisciplinary reviews.
• Identify and communicate necessary vendor and engineering information.
• Collaborate with other disciplines, contractors, suppliers, and the client.
• Offshore survey may be required.

Background and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of automation engineering experience in greenfield projects.
• At least 6 years’ experience in automation and SIS system design, including brownfield SIS modifications.
• Solid knowledge of automation design and networks per standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, and IEC.
• Valid FSE and Ex courses for the engagement.
• Strong English communication skills, both oral and written.
• Team-oriented with a cooperative mindset in a multicultural work environment.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks systematically with attention to quality and deadlines.
• Proactive and willing to share knowledge.
