Your new role
As our new Consultant, you will join our stellar Environmental Health & Safety team that supports clients with evaluating contamination and regulatory compliance risks and other environmental, health and safety issues. You will be part of a dynamic team providing state-of-the-art scientific, technical, and strategic risk management assistance to an international client base. You will split your time between office-based work, including reviewing project-related materials and writing reports, and site visits (including some local/regional/international travel). This role is based in our office in Monterrey.
Your key responsibilities, supported by an experienced team, will be:
- Conduct environmental site assessments and compliance reviews for commercial, industrial, and multi-site portfolios.
- Review and summarize regulatory requirements for environmental compliance and prepare technical reports on findings.
- Analyze site investigation reports, assess contamination, and develop scopes of work for remediation activities.
- Provide conclusions, opinions, and recommendations to clients, including attorneys, lenders, developers, and industrial clients.
- Support multiple projects, including site visits, permitting activities, and international due diligence for large infrastructure projects.

These include:
- A minimum of a BA or BS in Geology, Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, Civil or Geologic Engineering), Environmental Science or Environmentally-related field from an accredited institution. Master's degrees are welcomed but not required.
- 1+ years of experience in environmental consulting.
- An understanding of the Phase I ESA requirements and the due diligence process. Experience working within the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) process is a plus but not required.
- Possess knowledge of multi-media environmental compliance topics and general understanding of Mexican federal and state regulations.
- Classwork or experience with site assessment and investigation, contaminant fate and transport, pollution control and design, regulatory policy, and GIS mapping a plus.
- Willingness/ability to travel up to 40% of the time on average during the year and possess a valid driver’s license and a passport. Travel may include overnight stay and may be out of state or event requiring international travel. Travel duration is typically 1-2 days, depending upon the specific requirements of each project.
- The physical requirements of this position may include the need for climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing/sitting/walking, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 40 lbs. In certain situations this position may expose the candidate to extremes in weather (hot/cold); high noise levels, to hazards such as a proximity to moving machine parts and moving vehicles, electrical current and exposure to chemicals. Employees may be required to take specific training and to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) on some occasions.
