About the role
Do you want to play a part in the electrification of the maritime industry ?
We are now looking for engineers to strengthen our Electrical System section in Norway, Germany or in Poland. You will be part of an experienced and engaged group driven by people’s competence and motivation to help and support our customers through consistent delivery of high-quality verification services.
The Approval Centre Europe (M-SA) within Maritime Ship Classification consists of six production departments, located across three different locations - Gdynia, Hamburg and Oslo (Høvik). The main delivery from the Approval organization is document approval, as well as verification and certification services for various maritime related assets in accordance with our rules.

In the position you may be involved in the following activities:
- Perform assessment and approval of electrical systems and components intended for ship- and offshore newbuilds, as well as conversion projects
- Provide expert knowledge to other parts of DNV, including surveyors, local stations, sales force and business development leaders
- Maintenance and development of class rules, internal and external guidelines and services within the technical area.
- Participate in discussions, meetings and workshops with customers
- Attend surveys and tests on ships or at manufacturer’s premises
The position reports to Head of Section for Electrical Systems.
Some travelling may be expected.

Who are you?

- Your educational background will typically be B.Sc. / M.Sc. in electrical engineering
- Good communication skills in English, verbally and in writing are necessary
- Eager to learn and develop, as well as adapt to new technologies in a fast-paced environment.

- Some experience within the field of electrical systems would be an advantage, but graduates may also be considered
